Senator Ned Nwoko

At the heart of the discussions was the creation of Anioma State, an issue that resonates deeply with the people of Delta North. Senator Nwoko did not hold back in exposing the true obstacles to this long-overdue project, making it clear that his pursuit of Anioma State is above partisan politics.

“I am in APC because the party and its leadership are supporting the creation of Anioma State. The opposition party, PDP, is against it because their leaders are against it.”

Regardless of the fact that over 90% of Anioma people want Anioma State, if in solidarity with forces against the freedom of Anioma, the Representatives of the people fail to complement Senator Ned Nwoko’s efforts, choosing instead to neglect the rights of their own people, that is on them, not on the Distinguished Senator.

Senator Nwoko reiterated his unwavering commitment to the Anioma Project, emphasizing that it is his number one priority, and no amount of political maneuvering from the opposition will deter him from fighting for the rights of Anioma people.

Senator Nwoko did not mince words in challenging Representatives in Delta North for  prioritizing party loyalty over the legitimate aspirations of their people.

He made it clear that his resolve remains unshaken, and he will push forward with the State Creation processes.

The Roadmap to Anioma State

Laying out the next steps in the Anioma State creation process, Senator Nwoko assured the gathering that progress is imminent:

Public hearings are expected next month, providing an official platform for Anioma people to voice their support.

A referendum can be facilitated using digital handheld devices, ensuring a transparent and democratic process.

Mass mobilization will be critical,

In the communities were digital devices are not utilised by the majority,  the referendum  will be done at the community level with the cooperation of traditional institutions and community members must actively engage to speak their minds to push for the state’s creation.

Only 24 State Houses of Assembly need to give their assent for Anioma State to become a reality.

“If the Delta State assembly refuses to give its assent, posterity will judge them, as the people who sent them there have the chance to speak through the referendum.

Reaffirming his determination to see Anioma State become a reality, he stated the the 24 States needed for assent will gotten.

Tackling Developmental Challenges

Beyond state creation, the meeting provided a platform to address Delta North’s broader developmental challenges, including poor infrastructure, economic stagnation, and lack of federal presence. Senator Nwoko emphasized practical solutions, stressing that real leadership is about results, not empty promises.

A Call for Unity and Collective Action

As Delta North APC gears up for a crucial meeting in Ika on February 22nd, Senator Nwoko has actively reconciled party members, ensuring that the meeting will be productive and united.

“Unity is the foundation upon which lasting change is built,” he declared, urging all stakeholders to set aside divisions and work in unison for the betterment of Delta North and Delta State. He emphasized that political transformation cannot happen in isolation—it requires collective effort, shared vision, and unwavering commitment.

A Renewed Commitment to Progress

With a revitalized APC in Delta North, Senator Ned Nwoko remains steadfast in his dedication to the people. Whether through the push for Anioma State, the fight for economic empowerment, or the drive to end years of political stagnation, he stands at the forefront of the battle for a better Delta.

With unity, strategy, and determination, the era of failed leadership in Delta is coming to an end—and a new dawn of progress, prosperity, and true representation is on the horizon.
