Palpable tension enveloped Aladja Community in Udu Local Government Area in the outskirts pof Warri, Delta State weekend following the disruption of an All Progressives Congress (APC) event by political thugs allegedly loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), event. The event was said to have been organised by a former PDP youth leader, Obaro Matthew Jagogo at Ward 10 who had defected to the APC.
Udu is located in Delta Central Senatorial District where the two leading governorship contenders, PDP’s Sheriff Oborevwori and APC’s Ovie Omo-Agege. The thugs stormed the event, alleging that Jagogo was owing them the sum of four hundred thousand naira he earlier collected from PDP officials.
They told the crowd of visitors already seated that they did not come for anyone but Jagogo and thereafter bundled him into a waiting car and brought down canopies.
They also chased the DJ away.
Comrade Jagogo had organized the event with the intention of dumping the PDP for the All Progressives Congress for reasons best known to him before the incident occurred.
