Ned Nwoko advocates national conference before 2023 polls
…wants LG autonomy
The Chancellor of Stars University, Idumuje-Ugboko, Delta State, Dr. Ned Nwoko has called for the convocation of a national conference to deliberate on all the matters currently causing divisions and tension in the country. The initiator of malaria eradication in Africa project who spoke in an interview with www.image.org.ng in Abuja also suggested that all groups in the country including separatists should be granted waivers or amnesty to participate in the national conference adding that such would afford them the right avenue to voice their grievances. He said the conference should be organized before the 2023 election.
Dr. Nwoko also advocated autonomy for local governments stressing that we need strong democratic institutions at all levels for better security, harmony and sustainable development. “The restructuring we need should start from the grassroots because it is the foundation of democracy,” he said.
He also spoke on other burning issues such as open grazing, state police, electoral reforms, zoning and presidency. Details later…
