Millions Gather In Katsina As Gov Radda Hosts 40th Maulud of Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass

Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed gratitude to Allah for answering prayers towards ensuring peace and stability in the state and the nation. He made the declaration on Saturday during the 2026 International Maulud of Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass held at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.


Governor Dikko  Radda  commended the organisers of the Maulud for bringing the faithful together in a spirit of unity and brotherhood. He added that religious leaders must continue to pray for the progress and prosperity of the state and the nation at large. He also urged Muslims to remain united and work towards greater cooperation among themselves for the development of society.


He appreciated all the Islamic leaders and clerics who witnessed the Maulud and wished them a safe journey to their respective destinations. According to him, hosting the event demonstrates the Building Your Future administration’s commitment to promoting interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence.


In his remarks, the Khalifa Sheikh Mahi Ibrahim Inyass, represented by Sheikh Muhammadu Kuraish Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass, called on Tijjaniyya followers to uphold unity and brotherhood. He urged them to act according to the teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) for a better society. 


On his part, the 16th Emir of Kano, Khalifa Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II, called for unity among the Muslim Ummah and appealed to followers to seek both Islamic and Western education as well as skills to become self-reliant.

The Khalifa or Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, Khalifa Ibrahim Dahiru Usman Bauchi, urged followers to be guided by the Holy Qur’an, Hadith of Prophet Muhammad and to follow the teachings of Sheikh Tijjani and Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass. 


The National President of the movement, Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Awwal, explained that this year’s Maulud marked the 40th anniversary of Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass Maulud in Nigeria. He commended Governor Radda and the Local Organising Committee for their support in actualizing the event.


The State Chairman of the Movement and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Sheikh Hadi Balarabe, appreciated all stakeholders for their contributions towards a successful 2026 Maulud.

The event colourful but sacred event attracted critical stakeholders and followers of the Tijjaniyya Movement from within Nigeria, West Africa and outside. 


Earlier on Saturday, the Emir of Kano, His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II, alongside the Khalifa of Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass from Kaulaha, Senegal, and other prominent Islamic clerics, paid a courtesy visit to Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, at the Muhammadu Buhari House, Katsina, before they proceeded to the venue of the 40th Annual National Maulud.


The visit formed part of activities surrounding the Maulud, which was hosted later in the day by Katsina State. It attracted millions of faithful from within and outside the country. During the visit, the respected religious leaders exchanged warm courtesies with Governor Radda  and offered prayers for peace, unity and the continued progress of Katsina State and Nigeria.
